Good news! Sponmech are proud to have recently donated £1,000.00 to a local cause - Riverside House’s Phase II Project Plan – mainly for the new laser cut Corten steel fence that will open to the towpath from the garden in front of Riverside House!
Riverside House is a thriving social regeneration project in Stourbridge, West Midlands. Often described as a Black Country Lost Gardens of Heligan, the organisation is situated and operates on approximately three acres of brownfield land, in a conservation area.
Over the last eight years (started in June 2015 by Lloyd Stacey) the land has been restored from utter dereliction to a fully functioning health and well-being centre that has had significant success in delivering its services to a wide range of beneficiaries, mainly serving people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health challenges. Riverside House has also engaged extensively with local schools and colleges.
Sponmech have contributed towards the commission of a Corton steel laser cut fence that will form the entrance way from the canal towpath into Riverside House. The fence will be situated in front of the house itself and would have traditionally been the formal entrance way into the site. The gateway will lead visitors through a walled cottage garden that will have espaliered fruit trees, herb beds and traditional planting. It will be an area of tranquility and reflection with areas of secluded seating.
Great work and best of luck Riverside House! From everyone at Sponmech Safety Systems Limited.
