Standards & Compliance

For your machinery to be PUWER 98 compliant, we need to see copies of your PUWER 98 survey, or we can do this for you at cost. All machinery guarding designed and manufactured by Sponmech come with certificates of conformity, are fully HSE compliant and where the application requires it, will also be CE marked.

Types of machine guarding for steel production

The demands of the steel industry require a more robust guarding system. Depending on your application and requirements, we will supply one or more types of machine guard:

Modular perimeter guarding with steel framing and wire mesh or sheet steel infill panels.

Heavy duty guarding or enclosures comprising these can be fabricated from sheet steel or wire mesh.

We can also offer barriers and bollards to separate pedestrian walkways from operational areas and machinery, thereby reducing the risk of people being struck.

In addition, we can offer:

Acoustic enclosures for noisy machinery, Conveyor guarding, interlocks, key-capture systems, light guards, pressure-sensitive mats, floor scanners and other safety devices, custom designed stairs, fixed access ladders and access platforms.

We will ensure that your guarding is compliant with all relevant British standards for machinery guarding. We will also always do our best to ensure that your new guarding system does not hinder production or manufacture.
