Standards & Compliance

For your machinery to be PUWER 98 compliant, we need to see copies of your PUWER 98 survey, or we can do this for you at cost. All machinery guarding designed and manufactured by Sponmech come with certificates of conformity, are fully HSE compliant and where the application requires it, will also be CE marked.

Types of machine guarding for the Food production industry

Sponmech produce stainless steel guard systems for hygienic applications to Food Standards.

Please see example photos from Specialist Bakery product manufacturer Montana Bakery who improved their safety guarding in 2023 with Sponmech Safety Systems. All guard panels and posts are TIG welded from Stainless steel with the mesh on the outside and removable panels where required for easy cleaning. Classic 50 x 50 posts from stainless steel are used with 25 x 25 x 1.5 stainless steel box section panels and 25 x 25 x 3 welded stainless-steel mesh.

We will ensure that your guarding is compliant with all relevant British standards for machinery guarding. We will also always do our best to ensure that your new guarding system does not hinder production or manufacture.
