Sponmech Safety System LTD’s origins date back to 1977 after the "Health and Safety at Work Act" (also referred to as HSWA) was implemented into the law in 1974. This resulted in a high demand for machinery guarding in the UK and subsequently gave opportunity for the company to set-up. The company's original founders were local auto motor tradesmen. 

In 1992 two families, the Sheppard family and the Bull family took over the reins of the business. To this day, the two families are the only stake holders in the company.

We are proud members of RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of accidents, a registered charity) and have been for over 30 years.

Our history has effectively strengthened who we are as a company; in that our 35+ years of experience and knowledge make us leading experts in the manufacture of machinery safety in the United Kingdom today.
